When it comes to Halloween, pumpkins are never left out. There are endless designs for Halloween pumpkin. There is the traditional happy pumpkin face or you can vary it using stencils and applying some elaborate designs. Depending upon your preferences, you can make it scary, funny or simply weird. Try these pumpkin carving tips and see what works best.
Pumpkin Carving starts with finding the perfect pumpkin. Pumpkins are available in various shapes and sizes. Make sure to pick a pumpkin that is already ripe, but not too ripe. To be certain, try to thump on it. If you hear a hollow sound, it means its inside is easy to scoop out. Look for a pumpkin that has a nice stem. However, this stem is not meant for carrying purposes. Always carry it from the bottom, not on the stem.
Keep your pumpkin in a cool, dry place until you are ready for carving. Never store it in places with warm temperatures as that will only speed up the pumpkin's ripening.
